In April 2018, participants from the US, Italy, Ireland, and the UK worked together to restore a trullo and build a stone sculpture in the countryside of Ceglie Messapica, Puglia, Italy. Additionally, participants restored dry-stone walls, learned carving techniques, and explored the vernacular stone architecture of the area. This workshop was in collaboration with stone artist and mason Thea Alvin of My Earthwork, local trullaro Mario Santoro, sculptor Michael Clookey, and Tonino Tuma of Casa Cilona.
